Chromium Nitride (CrN) PVD Frame Coating

Add a clean, high-end accent to your Frame with our Chromium Nitride (CrN) PVD coating. This finish delivers a refined Chromium Nitride (CrN) tone with the durability and wear resistance PVD is known for—ideal for builds that want a premium look without going flashy.

About PVD: PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a coating process where material transitions from a condensed phase to a vapor phase, then returns to a condensed thin-film layer on the part.

Color Disclaimer: “Chromium Nitride (CrN)” refers to the specific tone shown in the product photos. Final appearance can vary slightly depending on lighting, surface finish, and batch. Photo Disclaimer: Product photos are edited for clarity and consistency. Actual color may vary based on lighting, screen settings, surface finish, and coating batch. Service only: You must supply/send in your own frame. Zero Substitutions. Satin Finish Only. Darkening Issue: In some cases we have seen frames that have darker hues after coating depending on the metallurgical makeup. We have seen it on only on frames. You can expect to see darker hues on the edges of the frame or in deeper recesses such as the slide lock area or the whole frame. More so if its been oiled down. You can also expect to see the veining of the metal in some places as well. Color Fill Policy: Color fill of any kind is offered only in Cerakote H-Series. We do not provide color fill on Elite, E-Series, C-Series, or any other finish or coating. If you want color fill, please select an H-Series finish. Color fill availability is determined at our discretion based on geometry, engraving depth, and surface prep requirements. Color Matching Policy (Cerakote / DLC / PVD / Anodizing):We do not offer custom color matching of Cerakote to DLC, PVD, or Anodized finishes. These finishes are applied to different materials and through different processes, and the same “color” can vary by substrate, batch, texture, and lighting. Because an exact match cannot be guaranteed or consistently repeated, we only apply Cerakote in our standard color options and we do not do one-off custom mixes or sample runs.
